Day 1- Arrival in Ulgii-Journey to Tavan Bogd Ranger Station

 

Fly from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and driver. Begin your scenic drive through the sandy valleys of Ulaanhus village, heading towards the breathtaking Tavan Bogd Ranger Station, the gateway to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Take in the dramatic mountain scenery and fresh alpine air as your adventure begins.

Day 2 - Trekking to Tavan Bogd Base Camp

After breakfast, start your trekking towards the Base Camp. This route offers spectacular views of the majestic Altai Mountains. pristine rivers, and untouched wilderness. Camels will carry your travel gear while you gradually ascend toward the legendary Five Holy Peaks of Tavan Bogd. This is an unforgettable introduction to Mongolia's rugged beauty.

Day 3 - Summit Malchin peak & Explore Potanine Glacier

Begin the day early with an ascent of Malchin Peak. The climb is non-technical but requires care on rocky terrain. From the summit, take in a panoramic view where Mongolia,Russia, and China meet-a true "roof of Mongolia" experience. Later, explore the stunning Potanine Glacier, the country's largest glacier.

Day 4 - Return Trek to Ranger Station

 

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before trekking back toward the Ranger Station. As you retrace your path, you will have time to soak in the scenery, photograph the landscape, and reflect on your summit day.

Day 5. Trek to Khar Airag Valley

 

Continue your journey with a scenic trek into lush Khar Airag Valley, a summer pastureland where Tuvan herders have preserved their nomadic lifestyle for centuries. This historic region is deeply connected to the Hunnu Empire. Along the way, visit the remarkable petroglyphs near Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain- ancient rock carvings that depict hunting scenes, wildlife, and spiritual symbols dating back thousands of years.

Day 6 - Return Drive to Ulgii-Eagle Hunter Experience

 

After breakfast, drive back toward Bayan Ulgii. En route, visit ancient historical sites and Turkic stone monuments. Stop by a traditional Kazakh Eagle Hunter's home to witness the incredible bond between hunter and golden eagle- a cultural treasure of Western Mongolia. Arrive in Ulgii in the evening.

Day 6. Fly to Ulaanbaatar-Farewell Western Mongolia

 

After your incredible expedition though Mongolia's Altai Mountains, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Take with you unforgettable memories of dramatic landscapes, ancient history, and warm nomadic hospitality.
