Best Time to Visit Mongolia

Best time to visit Mongolia would be in Summer and Autumn.However, You can travel to Mongolia any time to enjoy incredible landscape and nomadic cultural life. Mongolia has 4 seasons and each season has its own uniqueness to offer. In winter and spring there are no many tourists travelling around.  If you like to do trek, horse riding and adventure jeep safari, then best time would be summer and autumn season. Spring (March-May)

In spring time the main highlight would be Nauriz or Spring Festival. Weather is still chilly until end of April and there is dusty wind in Gobi regions. Nomads are still in their winter places until May. Visiting nomads and staying with them can give you real nomadic life experience.

Summer (June-August)

Autumn (September-October)

Winter (November-February)

Winter starts from November and ends Mid-March. It is longest season of the year and temperature drops down to -40 degrees especially in northern part of Mongolia, Khovgol, Uvs provinces. In winter you can participate in Ice Festival which takes place in Khovsgol province or you can do hunting with Eagle Hunters in western part of Mongolia, Bayan Ulgii to get real experience of last nomadic hunters still practicing and living with their culture. Harsh and very cold winter comes only for short times; in general there is no heavy snow and under the clear blue sky winter tour can be very enjoyable.
