DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY


Day 1. Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii, Tavan Bogd Massive

Fly from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii about 3 hours. At the Ulgii airport, you will meet our team and start your journey though sandy mountains of Ulaanhus Village towards Tavan Bogd Massive Ranger Station.

Day 2. Trek to Tavan Bogd Base Camp

After breakfast, you will start trekking towards Base Camp. It is time to experience scenic view of  Majestic Altai Mountains, crystal clear streams and surrounding wild nature. Camels will be loaded with travel gears. You will be gradually ascending towards Holly Five Peaks of Tavan Bogd Mountains. Overnight in a tent (B+L+D)

Day 3. Tavan Bogd Malchin Peak Climb

Early in the morning you will start to climb Malchin Peak. It is non technical climbing; however, you should be careful because of rocky and slippery terrain. Once you are on the top of Malchin Peak, you will be on the conjunction of Mongol Altai, Russian Altai, Chinese Altai Mountains. Enjoy the view because no you are on the roof of all Mongolia. Overnight in a tent (B+L+D)

Day 4. Trek back to Ranger Station

After breakfast, tents will be assembled and camels will be loaded with travel gears. You start trekking back to Ranger Station Tavan Bogd National Park

Day 5. Trek to Khar Airag Valley

Khar Airag Valley is summer pasture of Tuvan nomads. Time to experience nomadic culture that has been existing without change from Hunnu Empire though Great Chinggis Khan's time, util now. On the way you will have opportunity to visit local nomads and taste their handmade dairy products. You will pitch camp before the Altai Mountains Pass nearby Tuvan families.

Day 6. Pass Altai Mountains Cross and Bear Valley

Again another big day is starting today. Today you will pass Altai Mountains Cross as named Tahilday which means Worship Cross. On the top, you wil encounter a big pile of rocks called Ovoo which is believed to be one of the holiest place for Shamans. After the cross, you will have your lunch. Descend along crystal clear streams and scenic landscape covered by flowers and different plants that only grow in Altai Mountains. Small waterfalls are beautifying the valley and you will experience  the varied landscape change from rocky terrain to forested mountains. You will camp close to small waterfall.

Day 7. White river valley

Today you will be trekking through spectacular landscapes. Wooded mountainous areas and massive valleys offer you breathtaking scenery and path goes along the milky white river. White river is taking the root from melting glaciers of Altai MountainsOvernight in a tent (B+L+D)



Day 8-9. Khoton and Khurgan Lakes

For 2 days you will be trekking along beautiful lakes Khoton and Khurgan. Kazakh nomads live along the lake. Visit Kazakh families who are famous hunting with Golden Eagles. Experience their lifestyle. Overnight in a tent (B+L+D)



Day 10. Drive back to Bayan Ulgii

Today start driving towards Bayan Ulgii. On the way great opportunity to see 3 to 11000 years old petroglyphs and Balbal stones from Turkish era. You will stop by Eagle Hunter's family and spend some time with him and his spectacular Golden Eagle. In the evening arrive to Bayan Ulgii to your Hotel or Ger Camp.

Day 11. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar

After having lifetime experience in the Mongol Altai Regions, Western Mongolia. Early in the morning, you will be transferred to airport and fly back to Ulaanbaatar.
